The University Agenda Connecting Club, is a project created and implemented by Integrating Capacity and Community Advancement Organization in various universities in the country.
The project began its implementation in January of 2021, with the aim of creating awareness towards the many global issues to students in universities.
The main objective of the University Agenda Connecting Club is to provide students in universities with a diverse outlook on issues of the world and not just the issues of what they experience during their time at university.
The main issues focused on by ICCAO and Binti Makini Foundation through the UACC project include; The Climate Factor, Climate change, Climate Justice, Adaptation to Climate change, Innovation and Creativity ; this includes raising awareness on Global Warming and its effects, emphasizing on recycling, the importance of planting of trees and making sure the ocean is clean and safe, Gender Based Violence; helping young women discover their voice, empowering them to take affirmative action in all aspects in their society such as breaking the patriarchal wheel and daring to run for leadership positions, Self Employment; teaching technical skills through workshops, providing financial education and connecting them to funding channels, Health Issues; sexual reproductive health, family planning and HIV/AIDS.
UACC implementation is through Seminars, Dialogue and Discussions and Practical trainings. The University Agenda Connecting Club began with 50 members but now is implemented in 25 universities in the country with 3000 members.
A Non-Profit, Non-Governmental youth-led Organization that works with youths including adolescent girls, and young women on development, gender and health through advocacy and development projects.
