Empowering Youth, Building Communities

Ulevi sio Dili is a project which aims to improve by 15% the health and socio-economic welfare of people (youth) through reduction of alcohol harm in Mara and Pwani regions by 2027. The project is designed to improve self-control of young people (15 – 30 years) over addiction of alcohol and drug abuse.

Groups of Activities:

  1. Informal Gatherings: Street camps, arts/music groups, and discussions on drug and alcohol issues.
  2. Bimonthly Meetings at Maarifa Hub: Regular gatherings for knowledge exchange, skill-building, and mentorship.
  3. Social Media Engagement: Dissemination of informative content via platforms like YouTube, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
  4. Mainstream Media Utilization: Collaboration with TV and community radio talk shows to promote discussions and behavior change.

Implementation Patterns: Activities will run concurrently across all five districts, focusing on districts with higher alcohol consumption rates. Trained volunteers in each district will facilitate engagement with youth.
